Jean Tom (Bristol Myers Squib, retired, and currently Professor of Practice at Princeton) has been a CACHE Trustee since 2020 and currently serves on the CACHE Executive Committee in the role of Secretary. She was honored “...for exceptional mentoring, advocacy and outreach in the support of increasing the representation of women in the chemical sciences.”
In 1993 the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation established the "Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences" with yearly awardees selected by the American Chemical Society. The award recognizes "...significant accomplishments by individuals who have stimulated or fostered the interest of women in chemistry, promoting their professional development as chemists or chemical engineers." Awardees receive $5,000, and the awardee also designates a non-profit institution which receives a $10,000 grant to strengthen its activities in meeting the objectives of the award.
Dr. Tom will be honored at the ACS Spring 2026 Meeting in Atlanta, GA.
